Prize alert We’re looking for donated items that can be used as prizes for the games in our “Mini Golf Party”. New items such as hats, balls, towels, wine, etc would be great. Let your imagination run wild. You know, all those items you’ve won elsewhere and never got around to using. Please send your response to Edie Hartman at golf4edie@comcast.net to let us know what you have to contribute. Last year’s party was a huge success and this one should be even better since we now know what works and what doesn’t. Be sure to mark the date on your calendar, and be prepared to have a great time. Now is the time to get our golf white elephants out of the closet so that we can astound all of our party winners with precious prizes. Ed Lybrand might even want to donate the trophy he won last year that is almost as big as he is. The Oakhurst Country Club website describes Oakhurst as follows: "From lateral hazards to daunting doglegs and roughs, this Ron Fream-designed, par 72 course is recognized as the "Best Golf Course in the East Bay." With panoramic views of the exquisite Mt. Diablo, lush green fairways, and scenic views, Oakhurst lives up to its reputation. An incredible design along with impeccable course conditions, breathtaking scenery and exceptional service combine to provide members and guests an unforgettable golf experience." The Oakhurst is a difficult course. From the white tees, it is tough. Wade warns everyone to bring their "A'' game. There's a lot of fescue grass on the course. The greens are very well guarded. The course is lovely and quite a treat to play. Attention golfers - be prepared to pick up your ball after you reach your max NCGA recording strokes - there is a strict pace of play.
